Sydney motorists are livid over changes to our roads

This is going to affect anyone with a car.

Driving in Sydney can be hard at the best of times, and many motorists are angry over a new government decision.

More red light cameras will be rolled out on NSW roads to catch reckless drivers.

The NSW roads minister told 7 News, “seeing vision of stupid behaviour, of dangerous behaviour, is really important for drivers to wake up to themselves.”

While the cameras may indeed save lives, some drivers are calling it “blatant revenue raising.”

In the last 12 months, there were more than 161,000 red light offences caught on camera, a figure that will no doubt grow with the addition of 29 new cameras.

Fines collected over those offences totalled a whopping $75,398,761 in the last year.

The most lucrative camera is on George Street in Haymarket, netting the government half a million dollars in just a month.
