Update: Hayne is staying with the 49ers!
It looks like the dream run is over for Hayne as the San Francisco 49ers have waived Jarryd Hayne from their roster.
Over the weekend the club has announced that in order to promote running back Kendall Gaskins to the team's active roster, they have officially cut the former NRL star.
Hayne had 48 hours to be picked up by another team, but as of 8am today the deadline passed and there was no interest from other clubs.
So what does this mean for Hayne: The 49ers could sign Jarryd to their Practice squad but due to multiple injuries it looks a if Hayne could be brought straight back to the squad.
With that said, Hayne will have to work even harder and play some impressive football in order to keep his NFL dream alive.
This could end New South Wales Premier Mike Baird's dream of having the 49ers play an exhibition game in Sydney. Just recently he said "It'd be great to get the Hayne train and the 49ers to Sydney and we're talking to the NFL about making it happen."
Baird even spoke to Fitzy & Wippa about it...
We think Jarryd Hayne is an inspiration, he is following his dream to play NFL and we hope that he can continue to make this dream come true!
