Louis Tomlinson Will Open Up About Losing His Mum In New Song ‘Two Of Us’
Get your tissues ready
Louis Tomlinson has a new single coming out this week dedicated to his late mum Johannah Deakin, who passed away from leukaemia in 2016 at the age of 43.
The One Direction star teased lyrics from his new song, Two Of Us, on Instagram, writing out the words “it’s been a minute since I called you”.
According to reports, in the track he sings: “You’ll never know how much I miss you, the day that they took you, I wish it was me instead”.
Also in the chorus, he promises his mother that he will live his life for the both of them.
“I will be the best of me, always keep you next to me, I’ll be living one life for the two of us”.
Speaking to House of Solo magazine, Louis opened up about how writing Two Of Us was like therapy, and that he needed to get the song off of his chest.
“In a way, I feel like I’d been avoiding writing this song because I knew I only had one chance to get it right,” he told the publication.
"I don’t mean to be too soppy but if Two Of Us can help just one other person who’s going through the tough time I went through, that would make me really happy."
Ahead of the single’s release on Friday, the X Factor judge has sent his fans on a global scavenger hunt to find hidden videos where he talks about the new song, as well as exclusive BTS footage.
In Australia, clues are hidden in Sydney at the Opera House walk and Central Station, Melbourne at Federation Square and Yarra Promenade and Brisbane at Queens Street Mall and Victoria Bridge Abutment
Two Of Us will be Louis’ first song in over a year, with his last single Miss You released in December 2017.
