Top 5 things to do in Sydney this weekend
Weekend so close you can taste it? Don’t know what to do yet? We’ve got you covered with the best in drinks, food and fun stuff to do in Sydney this weekend.
1. Skate at a silent ice skating festival
What do you get when you combine ice skating, dancing and music? A silent ice skating festival, of course.
For one week only this September, Central Park Mall will be hosting the free event to welcome spring during the school holiday break. Skating will open from 10am on Friday, 23 September and when the sun goes down, the party will begin with a silent disco taking place on the ice rink, each night from 4pm to 8pm.

2. Eat away your hangover at Milky Lane
Nurse your Friday and Saturday night hangovers with over-the-top burgers and shakes at Bondi hotspot Milky Lane.
And this Saturday and Sunday between 12 and 4pm only, the Curlewis Street venue is offering NOVA readers a free dessert with the purchase of a burger – just mention "NOVA".
3. Have a fancy dinner at Tramsheds
Grab a date for a fancy-but-relaxed dinner at the new Tramsheds food precinct, which opens in Glebe today. Some of Sydney’s best chefs have gathered together and made-over the old tram sheds, turning it into a super-fancy food court.
You can pick from Bodega 1904, Butcher and The Farmer and our new fave date spot Osaka Trading Co. Finish off with some scoops from Messina.

4. Stroll through Surry Hills Festival
Surry Hills Festival has become so popular over its 14 years, it now draws in a crowd of 50,000 people.
The Saturday festival stretches from Ward Park to Shannon Reserve, and from Crown Street to Hill Street, and features live music performances, kids’ activities, art trails and market stalls.
