Mel McLaughlin slammed on social media for supposed ‘double’ standards!

2 min read

The tables have turned on Mel McLaughlin.

It was just a few weeks ago that Mel McLaughlin made headlines after cricketer Chris Gayle made unwanted advances towards the reporter.

Cricketer Chris Gayle sent the Internet into a meltdown after he overtly flirted with the female reporter.

“I wanted to have an interview with you as well, that’s why I’m here. I get to see your eyes for the first time, it’s nice. Hopefully we can win and go for a drink after. Don’t blush baby.”

Cricket Australia condemned the remarks made by Gayle saying his comments were just “disrespectful and simply inappropriate.”

Now the tables have turned! McLaughlin herself has been slammed on social media and has been accused of double standards. During a post-match segment, the reporter slipped up and called Mark Waugh by the wrong name. When the panel dissolved into laughter McLaughlin apologised by saying, “I’ll buy you a drink.”

Mel’s comments sent the internet into a frenzy as people accused Mel of double standards…

While Mel was receiving attention for supposed double standards, Chris Gayle was making headlines for a completely different reason.

Last night Gayle equalled the fastest half century hit in Twenty20 history. The 36-year old smashed out his half century in just 12 balls!!

What do you think? Is it fair that Mel is being accused of double standards??
