Matt Le Blanc Calls Out David Schwimmer For Disliking Co-Star
Matt Le Blanc has spilled some serious beans to talk show host Jimmy Kimmel.
No, he hasn't revealed his Joey Tribbiani secrets or even how he looks so dapper for a 51-year-old rather, Matt Le Blanc has shared cheeky details about Marcel the Monkey.
Marcel, a Capuchin monkey, featured in Season One of the hit series and was owned by Ross as a pet before being (rightly) given to a zoo.
“I liked the monkey. I like animals. Yeah, the monkey was really cool,” Le Blanc told Jimmy Kimmel following a brief chat about live studio audiences.
"Schwimmer not so much."
"He’s the one who had to work with it the most, so he’s like, ‘Again with the monkey?’ But I got along great with the monkey.”
Apparently, this isn't the first time David Schwimmer has spoken out about Marcel:
“I hate the monkey. I wish it were dead,” David told Entertainment Weekly in a 1995 interview.
“The trainers won’t let me bond with it. They’re really, really possessive. It’s like, ‘Land on your marks, do your job, don’t touch our bond with the monkey.’ It’s a bummer.”
Which we kinda get 'cause it is a non-domesticated animal and all, but still a categorical bummer.
Matt also shared a cheeky anecdote from the set involving Marcel:
“One time, so we’re shooting this scene, this scene with the monkey, and the monkey just decides to… sound stages are huge. You’ve got the lights hanging from the grid and they go way up on these chains and the ceiling is like, you know, 60 feet or whatever it is,” he explained.
"The monkey just [climbs] right up to the ceiling, just disappears up into the blackness of the stage. … So all the actors were like, ‘Well, I guess we’re out at 5, we’ll see you later.’”
... And we thought it was an interesting day when Susan from Accounts brought 'round those muffins.
