MAFS' Sam Issues Apology Saying He's 'Ashamed' Of His Actions On The Show
“I’m disgusted and ashamed of the way I acted and treated other people."
Married At First Sight's Sam Ball has taken to Instagram to issue an apology to fans of the show for his behaviour.
In a video Sam revealed he was "ashamed" of his actions, saying:
“I’m sorry if I’ve offended anyone, male or female, that’s watched the show.
“I’m disgusted and ashamed of the way I acted and treated other people. I made a lot of mistakes, and I’m going to be a better person for that.
“Moving forward I’m looking forward to this YouTube [channel], showing you the real me, not the edited version.
“Happy to be back to reality and hope to see you all in the near future.”
Earlier this week Sam uploaded a sneak peek at his YouTube channel content with a video of him running around in a dinosaur costume – you really can't make this stuff up.
He captioned the video:
"A little teaser of my first YouTube video finally launching now!!! It’s going to be a channel full of laughs and a reflection of my true self. I look forward to sharing the content with you all."
It appears as though the reality star is trying to change the bad boy image he earned following his treatment of 'wife' Elizabeth Sobinoff and then Ines Basic.
He then sparked outrage when he was the only contestant who chose not to attend the finale.
Speaking with A Current Affair, Sam said:
“I just didn’t want any part in the show, you know brother, the drama... I’m just over it.”
However, he also added that he regretted not appearing on the episode:
"I didn't get a chance to defend myself."
Had he been at the taping he would have witnessed Elizabeth's amazing reaction to his fat-shaming comments.
During the wedding episode, Sam told the cameras:
"I've never dated a girl as big as Elizabeth."
"Maybe I could get her running in the morning."
When Elizabeth saw the footage she gave this amazing speech:
“You just met me, on the wedding, right? Okay.
“You judge me by my appearance; that I'm a larger girl. I’m a heavy girl.
“[Sam is] setting the tone for all the women out there. You're not worthy enough if you're not a size six or below. You're not worthy enough. You don't deserve the time of day. You don’t deserve any of that.
“I am just appalled that he is so free to comment on a woman's weight. That to me is absolutely despicable and disgusting. Disgusting, okay? Women have a hard enough time in this life... we get so much thrown at us.”
Too bad he wasn't there to hear it from her directly.
