The author of Game of Thrones has confirmed a major plot twist in the story.

Yes, we’ve been waiting a while for the new Game of Thrones novel, five long years to be exact. But it turns out it’s definitely going to be worth the wait.

George. R.R Martin has confirmed that the new novel will contain a major twist that you won’t be able to see on your television screens. The major plot change contains one of the characters the show has already killed off.

“It’s fairly obvious because it is something that involves a couple of characters, one of whom is dead on the show, but not dead in the books. So the show can’t do it, because they have killed a character I have not killed. But that doesn’t narrow it down much because at this point there are like 15 characters who are dead on the show who are still alive in the books.”

Who could it be, Jon Snow (although his death is debatable), Stannis? Jojen?

“This is going to drive you readers crazy but I love it. I’m still weighing whether to go that direction or not. It’s a great twist. It’s easy to do things that are shocking or unexpected, but they have to grow out of characters. They have to grow out of situations. Otherwise, it’s just being shocking for being shocking. But this is something that seems very organic and natural, and I could see how it would happen. And with the various, three, four characters involved… it all makes sense.”

AHHHH WE MUST KNOW! Although hopefully, and our fingers and toes are crossed, George R. R Martin is planning to release the book by the end of 2016. (MIRACLES DO HAPPEN!)

The book aside, the new season of Game of Thrones is coming. The question on everyone’s lips is Jon Snow’s ultimate fate, baring some invasion of white walkers on the HBO headquarters, we’ll find out in APRIL!
