“Olivia must be cringing.”

It seems Delta Goodrem’s take on playing Olivia Newton-John has disappointed viewers after part one of Olivia: Hopelessly Devoted To You aired on Sunday night.

The 33-year-old’s performance has been slammed as “awful” after the mini-series debuted.

While there were some positive reviews, it seems that most people taking to social media have been pretty negative:

Olivia has previously said she probably wouldn't watch the biopic, but eventually agreed to record two songs for the soundtrack with Delta.

Olivia's daughter Chloe Lattanzi told Woman's Day the mini-series was created without her mother's "consent, participation or knowledge". She told the publication:

"What's upsetting is the way it's been done. Not one part of it has come directly from our family, it is completely unauthorised. Nobody asked us to take part or consulted us about accuracy."

"We didn't want people to see some of the toughest periods we have endured as a family and view them simply as lighthearted TV. We are people with feelings like anyone else, and it's weird that some of the heaviest and saddest times of our lives have been turned into a fictional TV miniseries for the sole purpose of entertainment."

Part two of the mini-series will air Sunday May 20 at 8:30pm on Seven.

Get in line, ladies

"Audiences became fatigued by the show after Ali's season."

Honestly needed like three viewings.
