Could he really be the good guy??

Draco Malfoy was one of the most important characters in the Harry Potter series. Draco’s torments on Harry Potter were a very formative part of their school life.

If you read any of the Harry Potter books you would have discovered that there were more layers to Draco Malfoy, then portrayed onscreen.

Draco did some terrible things but deep down he was just confused and a little bit bitter.

Although this deleted scene has been around for a while it has been revealed that the Harry Potter film makers wanted to give Draco a lot more credit then he deserved.

In the deleted scene Draco realises that that there is hope for the good guys and helps Harry out. Draco grabs Harry his wand and tosses it to him to help him defeat Lord Voldemort.

“There was a moment with Tom we had this scene. In this scene where Tom throws Harry a wand, which is a big deal- a hugely different ending. It’s not a different ending, it’s a different moment. And we thought, ‘Oh my god, is that too much of a turnaround for Malfoy? So Malfoy suddenly becomes a good guy- so that’s what Steve Kloves (the film’s screenwriter) wrote.” David Yates (Director) said.

If this scene was kept in the film, Draco would have been labelled as one of the ‘good guys’ and we’re not sure if he deserves that title.

The directors however came to their senses and replaced the scene with one of the most awkward hugs in cinematic history.

10 points to Slytherin for the effort Malfoy but it still doesn’t make up for all the years you were a big time bully.
