From Home and Away to Avengers: Endgame, we’re really used to having Chris Hemsworth on our screens.
He’s just always there when we need a good fix of Hemsworth, ya know?
You could say we’ve taken for granted this gorgeous hunk of Aussie.
But Chris Hemsworth has just said something we simply refuse to believe to be true:
He’s quitting Hollywood.
To be fair, he’s been filming back-to-back for the last 12 months, which is no small feat.
But being tired isn’t the only reason he’s hitting pause on acting; he wants to be a better dad.
The 35-year-old told The Daily Telegraph that he wants to spend more time at home with his wife Elsa Pataky, 42, and their three children.

Chris explained to the publication that he’s planning on spending time at his home in Byron Bay:
“This year I probably won’t shoot anything. I just want to be at home now with my kids,” he said.
“They are at a very important age. They are still young and they are aware when I leave more than before.”

Yep, Chris Hemsworth is taking a break from being our on-screen crush because his kids miss him.
First: we suddenly feel terrible.
And second: awwww.
Chris has been pretty open about the difficulty of leaving his family behind to work overseas.
In an interview with GQ magazine last year, he explained how leaving his kids can be distressing. His seven-year-old daughter India Rose has a particularly tough time saying goodbye:
“She’s normally like, ‘Yeah, see you, daddy. Cool.’ [This time] she was like, ‘Papa! Papa! Papa!’ She doesn’t always call me Papa, either,” he said.
Chris and Elsa have been married since 2010, and they along with their children – India Rose and twin sons Sasha and Tristan – relocated from LA to Byron bay five years ago.
Hopefully he’ll be ready to re-enter the movie business at some point. In the meantime, luckily we have backup:
