Troy started his radio career by throwing packets of chips and drinks from the back of radio promotional vehicles around Melbourne. Once mastering the fine art of distributing freebies to people, he moved onto various on-air presenting roles across the station before being promoted to anchor of Fox FM’s longest running breakfast show, where he spent 12 years getting up to a 4am alarm.
Although Troy’s work day now starts just a little later than it used to, as a self-confessed early riser, he still gets up pretty early and aims for a morning run before getting to work to present Nova’s Greatest Hits Workday, weekday mornings from 9am-1pm. While his may be a familiar face to some, having presented on Channel 7 for over 10 years, it’s radio that remains his first love, and the Nova on-air studio where he feels most at home.
With a business degree in property, Troy maintains a keen interest in renovating and building and is also a qualified auctioneer and regularly calls auctions. Who knows, maybe one day we’ll see him on The Block auctioning one of those magnificent properties!
Obsessed with travel and exploring new places, he’s packing a bag at every chance he gets and has a long list of places still yet to visit. At last count he’s visited 104 cities on every continent except Antarctica, but an expedition to the icy wilderness is planned at some point in the next few years.
