Nova’s very own Kate Ritchie was a part of history this morning, when she and Jess Mauboy named and christened P&O Cruises two newest ships, Pacific Eden and Pacific Aria, alongside the full five ship fleet in Sydney Harbour.

Kate Ritchie’s ‘studio’ this morning was a lot bigger than normal!

Kate, alongside Jess Mauboy, had the pleasure of christening and naming the two newest ships of the P&O Cruises fleet, Pacific Eden and Pacific Aria, as part of their ‘Godmother’ duties.

And this was no normal christening!

Of course there was champagne, but to mark such a momentous occasion the whole P&O fleet docked in Sydney Harbour for the first time ever.

Adding a modern Twist, Kate did the naming via Twitter so all could see the spectacular.

Of course, Sydney turned on the weather as usual!

The party is set to go into the night with 20 live acts and 10 Djs playing across the ships, from Jess Mauboy herself, to The Veronicas’s, Stan Walker and Samantha Jade.

A firework display will mark the finale, lighting up all five ships.

After the festivities Kate was back behind the 'big stick' for Kate, Tim and Marty, heard from 4pm weekdays.
