Sydney was in full swing last past weekend with the city lit up to honour the LGBT community. Now it's all over check out these other festivals around the world bringing people together to celebrate gay pride.

LA PRIDE - WEST HOLLYWOOD

Since 1979, LA Pride has been held in West Hollywood the historical centre of Los Angeles gay life. Similar to Sydney Mardi Gras, the festival incorporates music, art, bright colours, parties, the famous parade, and even a female Dyke March! Last year acts like Fifth Harmony (pictured below), Kesha and Tinashe all took to the stage to join the parade.

It's also a chance to spend time in our favourite hood of LA, West Hollywood or WeHo as the locals affectionately call it. This borough is full of five-star hotels, great coffee and eats plus the best bars in LA it's a holiday and LBGT celebration rolled into one. The 2016 LA Pride will take place June 10 – 12.

If you’ve made the trip to the USA for LA Pride you should jump on a flight to New York for the official NYC Pride festival the next week. The week long celebration is a commemorative event honouring what many consider one of the important advancements in the history of lesbian and gay rights, the Stonewall Riots, which occurred on June 28, 1969. Don’t miss the Dance on the Pier event with huge DJs and acts signing up each year to perform. New York Pride runs 21-28 June 2016.
