Turns out Emma Watson’s Hermione days weren’t all that magical
Since starring as frizzy-haired Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter film series, Emma Watson has grown into a beautiful young woman right before our very eyes. *Refresher*
And now the 25-year-old Brit is opening up about what her childhood was like during those Hogwarts days. Well, it turns out, it wasn’t all that ~magical~.
Daily Mail is reporting the actress admitted to being “terrified” by the global interest in her life and only coped with red carpet appearances by going “numb”.
“The level of questioning I was under, coming at such a young age. People asking me ‘What do you think of this? Who are you, who are you, who are you?’ I felt so inadequate because I just didn’t have answers yet.”
Emma also admitted she didn’t feel comfortable in her own skin until 2009 when she moved from the UK to the US to study at Brown University.
“I’d spent more than half of my life pretending to be someone else. While my contemporaries were dyeing their hair and figuring out who they were, I was figuring out who Hermione was and how best to portray her.”
The poor thing! These days Emma is a UN Goodwill Ambassador, and is set to star in two movies next year, including highly-anticipated Beauty And The Beast.
