Ricky Gervais copping backlash over transgender jokes
The comedian warned viewers that he was going to offend people at this year's Golden Globes, however has he gone too far??
Gervais has hosted the Golden Globes three times before he was asked back to present this year’s Golden Globes. So, he must have done a pretty good job.
However, the 54-year-old is receiving a lot of criticism from fans after he made several jokes about transgender issues.
Gervais started by saying he has ‘changed’:
“I’ve changed. Not as much as Bruce Jenner, obviously. Now Caitlyn Jenner, of course. What a year she’s had. She became a role model for trans people everywhere, showing great bravery in breaking down barriers and destroying stereotypes. She didn’t do a lot for women drivers, but ... you can’t have everything.”

Jenner was involved in a fatal car accident last year.
After pocking fun at Caitlyn, Gervais moved on to Transparent star Jeffrey Tambor who plays Maura Pfefferman, a transgender woman:
“Every day he has to put on women’s clothes and makeup and let people film it. That takes balls. I don’t know how he does it,”
Gervais continued, asking the actor whether he has to tuck his genitals behind his legs or hide them inside him.
Do you think Gervais took it too far?
