Netflix is about to BAN Aussies from a whole heap of films!
Say goodbye to back-to-back Friends episodes!
Netflix today have announced that they are clamping down on those ‘unblockers’. Which means that you will no longer be able to watch content that is available in other countries.
At the moment technically you are unable to access films and TV shows from other regions but they have been extremely relaxed and turned a blind eye to the use of geo-blockers.
In case you’re wondering a geo-blocker allows you to access content from other regions that is normally restricted here in Australia.
Netflix today announced, “Those using proxies and unblockers will only be able to access the service in the country where they currently are. We are confident this change won’t impact members not suing proxies.”
It’s time to say goodbye to watching unlimited Friends episodes and all those amazing TV shows that are only offered in America. Although this is devastating news for some Netflix said, “We look forward to offering all of our content everywhere and to consumers being able to enjoy all of Netflix without using a proxy.”
Last week Netflix revealed what the most watched movie was in their history. The movie ‘The Ridiculous Six’ in the first 30 days on Netflix became the most-watched movie in the streaming platforms history.
“The Ridiculous Six…. in the first 30 days on Netflix, it’s been the most-watched movie in the history of Netflix. It’s also enjoyed a spot number in every territory we operate in, and in many of them it’s still number one.”
At least we can will still be able to re-watch Orange is the New Black.
Anyways please resume watching Making a Murderer (#amirite)
