Hold the phone. There is more Adele Carpool Karaoke footage
Hello from behind-the-scenes of Adele's epic Carpool Karaoke clip!
Adele’s round of James Corden’s Carpool Karaoke was pretty much the BEST clip we’d seen this month. Between the ~legend~ belting Spice Girls, chatting about her drunken solo dining, and rapping Nicki Minaj’s ‘Monster’, we could NOT. STOP. WATCHING. If you haven’t watched it already, do yourself a favour.
You’re welcome. Now The Late Late Show with James Corden’s exec producer Ben Winston is treating the world to some behind-the-scenes GOLD nuggets, including details on how he managed to lock down one of the world's biggest performers.
Ben said he and host James had originally asked Adele to be involved with the show back in January last year, but that she and her manager had told them they needed to wait until her album came out the following year.
"So when the time came, I dropped Jonathan a line and said, 'You remember when you said you would do something at the start of the year?' And instantly, they came back and said, 'Yep. We did. We’re doing it. What would you like to do?' We said we’d love to do 'Carpool,' and amazingly, they replied, saying, 'Okay. December 21, 12:30 at this address. Does this work for you?' I was like, 'Oh my God, that can’t be right. Has someone hacked my email?'" he told Vulture.
But the biggest bombshell of all came when Ben revealed there was *get ready for it* MORE FOOTAGE that wasn't shown.
"We had an hour penciled in for it. But she was having a great time, and James was having a great time. And in the end, we filmed for a couple of hours."
He explained that the editors originally shortened the footage to 54 minutes, and then eventually chose what they felt were the best "14, 15 minutes".
WHERE. CAN. WE. FIND THE WHOLE THING?!
