Harry Styles rumoured to be making his acting debut
Teenage heartthrob Harry Styles is set to make his acting debut
So it looks like Harry Styles’ career is heading in another direction. The One Direction heartthrob is rumoured to be appearing in Christopher Nolan’s new World War II movie, Dunkirk.
The Hollywood Reporter reports that Harry has joined the cast and is presumed to play a young soldier alongside a bunch of other young British actors. The film centres on the British military evacuation of the French city of Dunkirk in 1940.
This would be Harry’s first attempt at acting unless you count One Direction’s Best Song Ever music video.
If the speculation is true the 22-year-old will star alongside Tom Hardy, Mark Rylance and Sir Kenneth Branagh in the epic World War II drama. We guess Harry can add acting in a feature film to things he’s done during 1D’s extended hiatus.
Earlier this year it was confirmed that Harry Styles had ditched his long-time management team Modest in order to launch a career in acting. Modest Management confirmed the news in a statement to Billboard saying, “We wish Harry the very best. It has been a real pleasure working with him. Harry is a total gentleman, and we know our good friend Jeffrey Azoff will look after him. We look forward to sharing some great wine with them next time we are in L.A.”
Although One Direction is official on an extended hiatus there are rumours that it is actually a permanent break. Supposedly the foursome collectively decided not to renew their recording contract with a source telling Us Weekly, “The 1D thing just ran its course. They’ll remain friends, but they are exhausted and want solo careers. Liam is really interest in song writing and production. And Styles, 22, is looking toward the big screen. Harry is launching a career in acting and singing.”
