Emma Watson finally weighs in on the ‘new’ Hermione
At the end of last year, the highly anticipated cast for the West End play for ‘Harry Potter and the Cursed Chid’ was revealed. Hermione Granger will be played by 45- year old Noma Dumezweni.

When we think of Hermione Granger we admittedly picture the character Emma Watson played. Fair-skinned with frizzy hair.
Although the casting decision was widely accepted there were some fans who struggled to accept the new image of Hermione. J.K Rowling even pointed out that nowhere in the book does it describe Hermione’s skin colour “Canon: brown eyes, frizzy hair and very clever. White skin was never specified. Rowling loves black Hermione.”
Emma Watson who played Hermione throughout the entire film series has finally weighed in and given her opinion on the matter. To say she had a lot of love for Noma would be an understatement. “Can’t wait to see Noma Dumezweni as Hermione on stage this year. (Finishing the tweet with thirteen love hearts.”
Noma replied, “Thank you Miss Watson! Much appreciated. I look forward to experiencing Hermione too.”
Now all we are imagining is old Hermione meeting new Hermione and our little Harry Potter hearts might not be able to handle it.
