Science says we can have wine before bed 'cause it'll help us lose weight
Yes, yes, yes. Wine before bed can help you lose weight, says science.
Our day, no, our month, has been made. We have received word from some scientists in the US state of Washington that drinking a glass of wine before bed is okay. Not only is it fine, but it can actually be good for you.
It all has to do with a substance called resveratrol. The compound, found in red wine, was shown to help convert ‘white fat’ into ‘beige fat’, which is easier to burn off. The smart girls at marie claire then dug up a separate study from 2012 that concluded a late-night glass of wine stopped unnecessary snacking.
But – there’s always a ‘but’, isn’t there? – we have to mention doctors aren’t necessarily recommending vino itself, since as we all know alcohol isn’t great on the body in the long term. The benefits of resveratrol can also be gained by snacking on blueberries, grapes, and strawberries. The fruits are all natural sources of the miracle compound.
Which is fine and all, but we're going to mainly stick to the wine source.
