Coffee lovers, rejoice. There’s another java-drinking benefit to make your daily $3.50 treat taste that much better. According to a new paper published in Sports Medicine, the stimulant drug reduces perception of effort and improves exercise performance. 

"This is one of the main reasons why three out of four elite athletes consume caffeine before or during competitions," the study said.

The researcher also concluded that caffeine can increase the enjoyment of exercise and reduce discomfort. So the next time you're heading to the gym, you may want to swing by your local coffee shop first.
