Here’s why we’re having more shark attacks than ever before

Shark attacks are on the rise, and we've got a very simple explanation.

If you thought you’ve been hearing about more shark attacks more this year than previous years, it's because there have been more. A lot more. Firstly, it's not only Australia that's been affected, the fish have been on the prowl all around the world.


And the reason is v. v. simple according to George Burgess, curator of the International Shark Attack File. 

"Sharks plus humans equals attacks. As our population continues to rapidly grow and shark populations slowly recover, we’re going to see more interactions."

So basically, the reason for the rise in number of attacks is all due to the fact that there are simply more people in the water.
